Bio

I am a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy (FMH) and one of Switzerland’s foremost experts in addiction medicine. I initially studied law before deciding to switch to medicine at the University of Zurich. Since graduating in 1992, I have worked in different academic psychiatric clinics in Switzerland in both inpatient and outpatient settings and I am now co-chief physician of psychiatry at the Arud Centre for Addiction Medicine in Zurich. Alongside continued education in systemic psychotherapy, I also specialised in addiction medicine.

In addition to being a Swiss licensed psychiatrist, I am a member of the board of SSAM (Swiss Society of Addiction Medicine), and a member of the Swiss Association for ADHD. I have been the investigator in a wide range of studies and am the author or co-author of numerous publications. I also act as an advisor to policy makers and governments. I serve as the chief consultant psychiatrist at Paracelsus Recovery, bringing decades of clinical insight and experience to the role.
